Observations from some sacred space where Earth, Air, Water, Spirit meet
Revelations and observations with Luke.
After years of commuting to Cambridge, an early-morning start was expected, necessary. Unexpected, however, was being fired from my job right after Labor Day. I followed my wife’s wise and direct advice: “Keep your routine, don’t let yourself start getting up a little later each day, suddenly finding yourself wandering into the kitchen at 9:30 to start your day. Get outdoors early and do something, bicycle, run, walk. In fact, why don’t you take Luke for a walk every morning? He’d love it, you might try walking the bridge.”
Here’s Luke:

A Tibetan terrier of nobility.
Faithful? Doesn’t cover the range of spirit demonstrated.
Eager to go? Every morning, rain or shine, dark or light, freezing or balmy
Happiness is an open window …

The Bridge:

Technically, it has length, and other dimensions; spiritually, it is boundless.
About 750 paces, one way, slightly under ½ mile, although ‘stretched’ to be that distance for attraction purposes. Face it: ‘half-mile long wooden bridge’ is so much better than ‘bridge; wood construction; length 0.43 mi’. Originally built in the late 1890’s, completely rebuilt in 1987, today sadly in desperate need of yet another rebuild. How is this possible?
